Tanya is happy to help you if you are stuck with your thesis, but also if you do not know how and where to start. The most important thing is a good research question – if it is too broad, you can quickly get stuck. Once you have (re-)formulated the main question, you will look at which theory would fit it best. Tanya likes to think creatively about academic issues and to structure academic texts. If you want she can also check your text for language errors. Tanya supervises theses in Dutch, English and German (in German there is no editorial option).
Tanya obtained a bachelor’s degree in law and a bachelor’s degree in Slavic languages and cultures from the University of Amsterdam. After that she moved to Berlin to obtain a master’s degree in East European studies, with a major in sociology. During an exchange semester in Moscow, she also took elective courses in political science. Due to her broad academic background, she can help students from all kinds of disciplines: from history to sociology, from law to linguistics and from political science to cultural studies. She believes it is important to help students regain their self-confidence so they can get back to work. By making a clear step-by-step plan together with the student, she ensures that the thesis does not become bigger psychological burden than it actually is and that students do not feel that they have to do everything all by themselves.
Tanya provides online thesis supervision and in Nijmegen.
